Will resizing stretch my photo?

No. A preset, or a size with the shape unlocked, fills the frame and trims evenly from the edges. With the shape locked, the other side follows yours so nothing is cut.

Can the image resizer make a photo bigger?

Yes, but plain resizing can’t add detail, so a big enlargement looks soft. For a bigger photo that stays sharp, use the AI Image Upscaler.

What sizes do the resizer presets use?

Instagram post 1080 × 1350, square 1080 × 1080, Story and Reel 1080 × 1920, Etsy 3000 × 2250, YouTube thumbnail 1280 × 720, and prints at 300 dpi: 4×6 is 1800 × 1200, 5×7 is 2100 × 1500, 8×10 is 3000 × 2400.

An image resizer for Instagram, shops and prints

Every place a photo goes wants its own shape. These are the sizes that work, and how to get there without a squashed face.

Instagram feed posts
Portrait posts take up the most room in the feed, so the Instagram post preset uses 1080 × 1350 (4:5). For a classic grid look, pick the square at 1080 × 1080. Both fill the frame and trim evenly from the edges, so keep anything important away from the very top and bottom.
Stories and Reels
Stories and Reels are tall: 1080 × 1920 (9:16). A landscape photo loses a lot from the sides at that shape, so start from a portrait shot where you can. If the person sits off to one side, crop around them in the Image Cropper first, then resize.
Etsy and shop listings
Etsy suggests 3000 × 2250 for listing photos, and the preset uses exactly that. A big, even size keeps thumbnails sharp in search and gives shoppers room to zoom. Smaller photo than that? The resizer will scale it up, but for a big jump the AI Image Upscaler keeps it crisp.
Prints at 300 dpi
Print shops want about 300 dots per inch. The 4×6, 5×7 and 8×10 presets work out the pixels for you and turn to match a portrait or landscape photo. A recent phone photo is big enough for all three; an old scan or a tight crop may need upscaling first.
